Certificates can be awarded to Users for completing an Activity. They can then download the certificate from their profile.
Locate the Activity you would like to award a Certificate for and go into the administration area (see find content in Content Manager or Find Learning if you're unsure how to do this).
Click on the Certificate tab on the left-hand side.
Change the Award certificate on completion toggle switch to on and click Save.
Select the Certificate Style, choosing between Graphical or Letter.
If required, select the Certificate Expiry. You can select a relative or specific date. Otherwise, select Does not expire.
You can choose to customise the certificate with a Certificate Message, using custom fields to auto-populate key information.
The fields are displayed in the Message Fields panel on the right hand side.
Note: If using the Graphical style, this style comes pre-populated with the User's name, the Activity name and the User's Assessment score (if applicable). You therefore don't need to add these fields to the Certificate Message if using the Graphical style.
Click Hide Message Fields to collapse the panel and view the whole Certificate Message box.
Click Show Message Fields to expand the panel and choose a field to add to your Certificate.
The custom fields are organised into three sections: Activity, Form and Profile.
Activity |
This is where you can pull in any information relating directly to the Activity, e.g. Completion Date or Success Status. The Activity Attempt ID field provides the User with a unique identification code. |
Form | This will only display when a Certificate has been enabled against a Form Activity. This is where you can pull in any fields you have included in your Form Template. |
Profile | Use this section to pull in Profile fields. |
When you are writing the body of your Certificate message, simply click on the required field in the Message Fields panel to add this into your Certificate.
To preview your certificate, click Save and then Preview Certificate.
A popup window will display the preview (your site branding will dictate how it looks so it may appear different to the screenshots in this guide).
This is an example of the Graphical certificate style:
This is an example of the Letter certificate style (only the custom text will be included in this style certificate):
If the preview displays correctly, you do not need to do anything else and the Certificate will be awarded to users when they complete the activity. Users will be able to view, download and/or print it from their Profile. If you need to make any changes, remember to click Save.
