This guide shows you how you can use Paint to resize images so that they will work within the eCreator templates. It assumes you have already found and saved an image you'd like to use to your computer.
Locate the image size to use from the eCreator template
When you need to replace an image within the eCreator template, it will advise you of the correct size and file format for the image within the popup window that appears after clicking on the pencil icon.
The width will always be listed first, followed by the height, in pixels.
Open the image in Paint
Open Paint.
Click on File, followed by Open.
Navigate to the file on your computer, click on its name and click on Open again.
The image will be loaded into Paint.
Resize the image in Paint
Click on the Resize link near the top of the screen.
Click on the Pixels radio button in the popup window that appears.
You will now be able to amend the image to the size given in the eCreator window. It is unlikely that your image will be in the correct aspect ratio therefore you will probably need to adjust either the height or width first and then crop the other option. For example:
If your image is in landscape, resize the height (vertical option in Paint) and then crop the width, if necessary.
If your image is in portrait, resize the width (horizontal option in Paint) and then crop the height, if necessary.
Here is an example of the image being amended to 172 pixels high:
If the horizontal aspect (width) is now correct, you do not need to do crop the image.
Either way, click on OK within the popup to save the new size.
Crop the image
Click on Select near the top of the screen.
Draw a box directly over the image whilst checking the dimensions of the box along the bottom of the Paint window.
When it is the correct size, release your mouse. Click on the Crop button.
The image will be cropped to the size you need.
Save the image
Click on File, followed by the Save As option.
Choose the correct file format from the list of options. In the example we are using above, we need to select JPEG.
Navigate to a different folder within the File Explorer window that appears, if required, give your file a name and click on Save.
You will now be able to upload the image to your eCreator page.
