This guide assumes you have already enabled the Responsibilities Map feature. If it is not enabled, see the Enable the Responsibilities Map guide first.
We would recommend that you take the tour if this will be your first time viewing and editing the map.
Our SMR Responsibilities Map tool supports multiple legal entities. You can amend the reporting line structure for each of these legal entities, meaning that you can have a different reporting line structure from the one set up in your LMS.
If the structure tab does not automatically display whilst in draft mode, this means reporting lines have not been configured within your LMS, and you'll need to do this first. See the Set/add a Line Manager guide for further information.
Add or remove a line manager
Whilst viewing a draft version of your map, click the Structure tab. This shows a visual representation of the current organisation structure.
Click Edit to begin editing the structure.
Select the three dots on a User's card where you can choose to Change or Remove Line Manager.
If you remove a User's line manager, click the three dots again, click Set Line Manager, and then click the User's card you wish to assign them to.
If a User reports to more than one Manager, you can add a dotted line to show the additional reporting line. To do this, click the three dots and click Add Dotted Manager. As before, click the User's card you wish to assign them to.
You can easily re-position and reshape lines for visual purposes in case the automatic routing results in a line going through another card or line. You can remove the line way point by clicking the X.
You can also add custom cards and visual areas to your map.
Resetting the layout
You can reset your diagram which will fully reset the layout to reflect the standard reporting lines. Click the Pencil icon and then Settings.
Once you are happy with your changes to the organisation structure, click Save.
Any line management changes made are only made in the context of the SMR map, and do not impact the primary structure within your LMS.
