In eCreator you can use the Link tool to do the following:
- Add an external URL to an eCreator page
- Add a document link to an eCreator page
- Change the colour of text links in line with your theme colours
- Add pop ups to an eCreator page (see separate guide Add a popup to an eCreator page)
- Link or branch to other pages in your eCreator course (see separate guide Branch to a new page in eCreator)
The Link tool is available from the edit menu. You can access the edit menu by clicking the pencil icon to the right of an item on your eCreator page.
The Link tool is also available when you highlight text in a text box.
Link to an external URL or document from items in your eCreator page
You can link to an external URL or document from text and images in your eCreator page.
To link from selected text, highlight the text you want to link from and the Link tool will appear. Click on the Link tool and select either External URL or Document from the drop-down options.
If you select External URL, insert the URL into the Add URL box. You can preview your link if you wish. You will notice the colour of the selected text has now changed.
If you select Document, click Upload Document and select the appropriate document from your computer. Once uploaded the Preview Document option will be available.
To link from an image or whole panel click on the edit menu. Click the Link tool and choose either External URL or Document from the drop-down options.
If you select External URL, insert the URL into the Add URL box. You can preview your link if you wish.
If you select Document, click Upload Document and select the appropriate document from your computer. Once uploaded the Preview Document option will be available.
Click Save.
Change the colour of text links
Highlight the selected text again and a new paintbrush option will appear under the Link tool. This option allows you to change the colour of the link text. Click on the paintbrush to select a colour. The colours displayed are in link with your eCreator theme settings. Select the colour you wish your text to be displayed in.
Click Save. You will see the text link colour has changed.
