Navigate to Site Settings from the Main Menu.
Click on the Person Category Groups tile.
On the left will be tabs for each Person Category Group that exists within your LMS (these may be different to the screenshot below). If you need to create a new Person Category Group the guide Create a Person Category Group will help you do this.
Click on the Category Group you wish to add the Category to then click on the plus icon to create a new Category.
Provide a name for the Category in the Category Name field. The Code field is optional but can be useful if the Category is recognised within your organisation by an abbreviation.
Once you've entered the details, click on the green tick to save.
Edit a Category
To edit a Category name or code, click on it to be taken back in to the editor. Amend then click on the green tick to save.
Reorder your categories
The order displayed will be the order your Categories appear when assigning to Users. If you wish to reorder the Categories, click and drag to your preferred position.
Delete a Category
To delete a Category, click on the dustbin icon to the right of the Category name.
You can only delete a Category if no Users are assigned to it. If you see an information icon instead of a dustbin this means the Category is in use and Users are assigned to it.
