Navigate to Site Settings from the Main Menu.
Click on the Person Category Groups tile within the Manage Features tab.
Click on Create Group.
Enter a name for the category group in the Group Name field.
In Category Label you can enter an abbreviation for the name of the group which will be used when assigning categories to users. For example, the if the group name was Certified Functions, and the category label was Function, this will show as 'Assign Function' in other areas of the system. If not changed, the default label is Category.
You can also choose a Colour to represent the Category Group. This will help to identify categories belonging to different groups when viewing a User's profile. Either select from the colour picker or enter a hex code.
The following screenshot is an example of how the colour will appear in the User's profile.
Select which options apply. An explanation of each option is provided below.
Categories can be assigned from the main menu | Ticking this option provides an area Administrators can navigate to from the Main Menu to assign the categories in bulk to multiple Users. |
Assign categories from new tab in user's profile | Ticking this option creates a separate tab for the group to assign the categories from when viewing User profiles. If not ticked, categories can be assigned from the Categories tab in the usual way. |
Specify Legal Entity when assigning categories | If you have created a Responsibilities Map in the LMS, this category enables you to align the categories to a specific legal entity when assigning to Users. For example, when assigning Certified Functions to your Users. |
To save the Category Group, click on the green tick.
You are now ready to create your Categories within your Category Group.
To edit any of the details for the Category Group, click on the pencil editor in the heading for the Category Group.
To delete the Category Group click on the dustbin icon. You can only delete Category Groups if there are no Categories within it.
