You can retroactively apply a CPD cap to update the amount of CPD a User is awarded for an activity after they have already completed it.
This is particularly useful if a User has accidentally been awarded too much CPD for an activity which did not have recommended CPD hours applied to it - for example if they left the window open for several hours before completing it.
Locate the Activity you need to apply the CPD cap to and go into its administration area (see find content in Find Learning or Content Manager if you're unsure how to do this).
Click on the Users tab.
All Users registered onto that Activity will be displayed.
In most circumstances you will be applying the CPD cap to Users who have already completed the Activity, but have been awarded too much CPD. You will therefore need to set the recommended CPD hours for the Activity prior to applying the CPD cap.
Note: it is possible to apply the CPD cap to Users with a completion status of Incomplete or Not Attempted, but they will still only be awarded the recommended CPD hours upon completing the Activity.
Click on the Any Status dropdown menu at the top of the page to filter to Completed Users.
Tick the box(es) next to the User(s) name(s) you want to apply a CPD cap to.
Choose Apply CPD Cap from the Actions dropdown menu.
A popup will open. You can choose to only apply the CPD cap for Activity completions past a certain date - any CPD awarded before the specified date will not be affected. If you need to, change the date, and then click Submit.
The User(s) CPD log will now be updated to reflect the recommended CPD hours for the Activity.
