Many professional bodies have rules and standards concerning the amount of CPD that should be completed over a given time period. The rules often only apply to certain professionals so it is possible for an Organisation to adopt multiple schemes and the LMS caters for this. Organisations have the ability to define their own CPD scheme or introduce a scheme to cater for employees that do not have CPD requirements defined by a professional body.
Some content that exists within the LMS can be assigned a CPD value. Organisations can assign a CPD value to any Activity within Content Manager whilst off-the-shelf content will have a preset value. When the Activity is completed, that value is added to the User's CPD log.
If a manual/offline Activity is added by the User, they will be required to complete any mandatory boxes set, such as the Time Spent and a Reflective Statement before it will count as eligible CPD. In addition, if it is a mandatory part of the scheme to add a Reflective Statement upon completion of an Activity completed online, they will be presented with a popup box where they can add this as soon as they complete the Activity.
Pathways can also be given a CPD value. The LMS intelligently deals with the Activities that have a CPD value and are contained within a Pathway so there is no double counting. Should a Pathway that has a CPD value span more than a year, then the individual Activities within the Pathway will count towards the CPD year they are completed in.
