The features you have access to on your Unicorn LMS will depend on the type of service you have with us. This guide will help you understand the difference between the different types.
What are the different types?
There are two different types of Unicorn LMS:
A single-tenancy enterprise platform is for organisations that need their own platform for their sole use and control. An example would be a corporate learning management system for staff that might be integrated with an HR system.
A multi-tenancy shared portal is a shared platform for multiple organisations needing to access licensed content libraries without the need for full LMS functionality. Examples include ComplianceServe, Resilia and Broker Assess portals.
Think of your LMS like an office block. If an organisation is the sole tenant within the building, they are single-tenancy. They have full control over what the office looks like and the facilities everyone can access. If there are many organisations within the same building, they are multi-tenancy. They may have control over what their part of the building looks like, but not the shared facilities. They also won't have a say over what facilities are available in the first place.
How do I upgrade?
If you are a multi-tenancy shared portal client looking to upgrade to a single-tenancy enterprise platform, please contact your Customer Success Manager.
